Melvin L. Oubre Jr.
Services for Mr. Melvin Oubre Jr. will be held on Wednesday at graveside at Mississippi Veterans Cemetery in Newton at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Mississippi Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Oubre, 70, of Meridian, passed away on November 19, 2017 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was a retired Vietnam Veteran after serving in the United States Navy and also retired from General Motors. He was an avid Ham Radio operator and a good friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, Margi M. Parks Oubre; Four Children, Victoria Lannan, Melvin Oubre III, Elizabeth Scruggs and Mary Oubre; by his brother and sister, Kent Donely and Dee Hurt; he had 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
